Garden Plant Markers Knowledge Base

A friend mowed over my vegetable garden even with plant markers. Can it be saved? Most of the leaves were cut off and the stalks that are left are, well, they are no taller than cut grass. Will they survive? Is there anything I can do to help them?
How can I make garden plant labels on the computer that do not fade in sun, snow, or rain? I have used a website that will print labels that stick on metal plant markers. They are great and last for years but they are expensive. I have a lot of perennials to label and was wondering if anyone knows how to recreate these lasting labels. I don't know if it is special paper that the labels are made from or a special ink or a combination of the two.
What does a baby Brussel Sprout plant look like? We Planted Brussel Sprout seeds along with several herbs so we could just see if we could raise them. We had them marked and the markers got moved accidentally. Now we want to plant the Brussel Sprout plants in the garden but can't tell which ones they are. This is the only place I knew to even ask the question. Please help us if you can!~~Nancy
How can I mark or label or write on medium-sized rocks for a rock garden? I have a small corner of my yard that is infested with morning glory weed. I have given up on trying to keep it looking nice as a garden area. My plan now is to sterilize the ground, cover it with heavy duty black plastic and a bark mulch of some sort, and place medium to large sized rocks on it, like you would find in a rock garden. I may even place pots here and there with something colorful in them. Just to make it a little more fun and interesting, I plan to collect these rocks from various places I visit. I would like to keep track of where the rocks are from and I am wondering if anyone has a good idea on how to mark them to do this.? So far I have thought of just printing the names of the towns with waterproof paint, or attaching some kind of a metal plate, or even just labeling plant marker stakes and placing one beside each rock. What unique ideas do you have? Just to be clear, I only want to label the rocks with the name of the town I got the rocks from; I don't want to actually decorate the rocks.
Looking forsome good ideas to decorate a fair exhibit booth for 4-H? The theme is "A Homegrown Experience" We plan to have the kids pictures in sunflowers, planted in a garden. How do I make a metal garden stake that looks like a lilly, or maybe even a bluebonnet? I would like this to last a few months at least. I planted bluebonnets in the local cemetry, but the caretaker tends to forget & mow things down, so I wanted a discreet marker for the various spots where bluebonnets are comming up. Any ideas that don't require a welder?
What Pencil To Use For Marking Plant Labels? Watch any television gardening program and there you will see the presenter sow seeds, plant out bushes, transfer veg into the garden. Next they wipe out a plant label and very quickly write the name of the seed, plant etc on it - and it is always in pencil. Now don't know about you but any time I write a label with a pencil if I come back in a few days the writing has gone and I'm left scratching my head as to what the hell seeds I put in there. So question is there a special plant label pencil? Of course I can always use a marker and generally do but I'm just curious.
My hibiscus leaves have on black spot at base of leaf (underside) what is it? Is it something to be concerned? On some leaves of my tropical hibiscus plant, on the underside, right above where the leaf meets the stem, there is a small black dot about the size of the tip of a marker. Not all leaves have this. Should I be concerned? Are there actions to be taken? The plant is 14 weeks old (says on the pot), no blooms or buds yet. I looked up "black spot" and it doesn't look like that. There are no other black spots on the leaves. My boyfriend gave me the plant yesterday. I am very new to gardening and don't even know what to do with a plant when I first buy one. I live in zone 9a. No worry about cold here anymore.
how to make your neighbours move or have you committed ???? 1.) Order pizza and other food to their house and pick it up at their doorstep claiming that you don't have a phone. 2.) Stand over the plants in your yard with a hose and Scream, "I have your life in my hands, bow down to me!". Then point at each one and declare them good or bad plants, while watering the bad ones. 3.)Bring them restraining orders on inanimate objects in their house. (ie: chairs, books, lamps, etc.) 4.) Ask them if you can put your trash in their cans, if they ask why say, "Mine are full of bodies", then stutter and say, "I uh mean other garbage." Walk away laughing hysterically. 5.)Patrol the perimeter of your yard while carrying a broom. If they come close state that their is a 3 foot neutral area between the two yards. 6.) At night transplant the plants in their garden. In the morning say , "looks like they're on the move again." 7.) When they're watching TV, pull a lawn chair behind their window. Sit down with popcorn and a dink and ask them if they could open a window so you can hear too. 8.)Build snowmen with name tags of your neighbours. Each day hack off a different part of their body. 9.) Use your TV remote to change the channels on their TV from outside. If asked why, say you protest such programs. (The more educational the program the better.) 10.) Dig shallow graves at night filling your yard with brown grave patches. Make markers out of household appliances.

Can someone please help me with this? I live in Texas and My Partner was charged with vandalizing property in our HOA, The past board President who has claimed two over 65 Exemptions living in two properties which she resides in one did not like Home owners who disagreed with the way she was running the property. Rather her and her vindictive board filed a declaration against our property for vandalism that was done to signs, town signs, street markers. She even had the management company make a false police report as a juvenile which we found out years later. In retaliation since we would not get a garden, my partner went to the dollar store and spray painted a garden in our common area and placed fake metal flowers to show that we need a garden. This is after the President had our front area dug out and had maintenance plant a cactus plant in our front yard. We have had two boards since then and we have tried to have a meeting to have this amount of 1,600 removed from the books as they keep on showing up. One board did not want to touch the issue and then other board said, it is staying even though the President said it will drop off the books and that we are going no where. I have been elected to the board after 12 years living here, and the new board wants to get off with a good start and get the records clean. Our Management rep. said this remained on the books as retaliation for the way we have spoke up to the board on various issues. My question is is there a statute of limitations for this and how can I get this removed off the books. No criminal charges were ever filed and our Attorney says no Attorney would even try to touch this as this is harassment on the past HOA board. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this. I could call you if you would like
Have you ever received the most perfect and fitting gift? Tyler bought this card for me a few years back. I love it so much I keep it on my fridge! My mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart. She planted all the good things that gave my life its start She turned me to the sunshine and encouraged me to dream, Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem And when the winds and rains came, she protected me enough - But not too much - she knew I'd need to stand up strong and tough. Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong - Markers for my pathway that will last a lifetime long. I am my mother's garden. I am her legacy - And I hope today she feels the love reflected back from me. *I did not write this, wish I had, but I can't take the credit. I just think it's beautiful and wanted to share! Enjoy and Happy Mother's Day!
Seedlings and mildew - a lost cause? I'm pretty new to gardening and 3 days ago planted some herbs from seed. I covered with plastic wrap after I lightly watered them. Today I checked on them (there was condensation on the plastic) and noticed a bit of fuzzy mildew on the name markers. Is there any chance of them still germinating after a spot of mildew or will I just need to replant using new seeds?
Wow I never knew cucumbers were so great!? I just saw this thing on cucumbers, not sure I believe it though. 1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc. 2. Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance. 4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area. 5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? I wasn't taking credit for it.
How can I tell when my zucchini is ready to harvest? I planted some zucchini in my garden. So far, my 5 plants have only produced one zucchini. The zucchini is growing rapidly, both in length and circumference. It is about 8 inches long and nearly 3" in diameter. I put a marker near it yesterday, and it grew another 1/2" in length since yesterday. The thing is, I am leaving tomorrow and won't be back for 2 days. I'm afraid if I wait until Friday to pick it, it will be too tough to eat. Should I pick the zucchini before I leave, or wait until I return on Friday?
