I inherited some fountain pens. Where in NY city can I go to get them appraised? How should I sell them? There are 12 pens in all. 2 are Mont Blanc Meisterstruk pens, and the other 10 are Waterman. They are probably about 30-40 years old. I don't know anything about pens to comment on their condition, the outsides look fine to me. I can take pics and link if necessary. Might they be worth anything?

Where can I buy a Waterman Serenite D'art Pen, "Eau"? Waterman created four fine pens reflecting elemental themes such as water, fire, earth, and air. I would love to purchase a water (eau) pen but where ever I go on the internet they don't seem to stock them (I keep finding blue, and grey serenite pens!). As there are only so many in the world, have they ALL been sold? Are they still being sold on a shopping website? If so, which website? How much do they cost? http://www.waterman-serenite.eu/Waterman_uk.html Someone please help me!
How do I clean my fountain pens from the inside? I have a Cross pen and a Waterman Phileas pen, both of which don't seem to write when I put in a new ink cartridge. I think it could be because there's too much clogged ink in there. Anyone know of an easy way to clean these? I saw a tip that said to soak them in olive oil, but I'd rather not try that one because it's so hard to get oil out of anything. Or is there someone or someplace I can take the pens to to get them professionally cleaned? Thanks for the responses. I have a couple of questions: 1. What is a piston converter and where can I find one? (I'm a very very novice pen collector). 2. I found an ultrasonic cleaner but it's for jewelry. Will that work? 3. Does anyone know of any professional cleaners who are not too expensive who you can recommend?
Is it better to lay a ballpoint pen flat or upright when not using it? Does gravity help the pen's ink stay at the tip? I want to get the most ink for my money. I got a Waterman pen set for Christmas and the refills cost $6.00.

Which fountain pen (e.g. Mont Blanc, Waterman, etc.) is your favorite and why? I interested in buying a new pen and want to know which pen is best. I currently own a Pelikan.
Which ones are better fountain pens? S.T. Dupont or Pelikan? I usually write letters or keep a diary with an S.T. Dupont fountain pen, which I bought at a fairly high price. And its outer design is very satisfactory. But I sometimes wonder if I had a smart choice at the time. Generally speaking, S.T. Dupont is well known as a manufacturer of luxurious lighters or accessories, not as a manufacturer of writing instruments. I also have S.T. Dupont belts and cufflinks. On the other hand, Montblanc, Parker, Lamy, Pelikan, Waterman, Cross etc are regarded as famous companies of writing instruments. I often clean the nib of my fountain pen with slightly warm water, to help its ink flow without running dry. But I sometimes find its ink doesn't flow, in the act of writing letters. What about Pelikan fountain pens? Many people say that Pelikan fountain pens are not as expensive as S.T. Dupont pens, but that they are very high-quality pens are are popular amongst fountain pen lovers.
how do you unclog a fountain pen? I have a waterman fountain pen that was stored for a month with the ink still in it. The pen is clogged. I have tried what the "web" recommends, wich is soaking it in an ammonia water solution. It has been sitting for 3 days and is still clogged. I try to push water through the nib area using the pens own converter but still nothing, the clog wont allow me to turn the converter due to back pressure. I do not know how a fountain pen is constructed. Can you use a pin or something to clear some sort of hole in the nib section end of the pen???
Waterman or Cross? Which pen (of these two) do you feel is better? I'd also be interested to know how you formed this opinion.
Does Anyone Know The Exact Date The Fountain Pen Was Invented And By Who? i know that it was invented in 1884 but i need an exact date. also i have searched who invented it i got many results saying LE Waterman but a few others to thanx
Best fountain pen for a beginner? Should I buy a Waterman Expert or a Lamy Safari for my first fountain pen?
My fountain pen is not running properly.? I have flushed it out with water a lot and not as much ink is coming out of it as there used to be and I can hear the contact with the paper as I write. It is a Waterman and cost about £30 6 years ago.
fountain pen help plz? are LAMY and PIERRE CARDIN fountain pens name brands? i noe parker and waterman is but i'm not sure about LAMY or PIERRE CARDIN... and can u use a parker ink bottle on the PIERRE CARDIN or LAMY fountain pen? or will the nip break apart?
Recommendation of a good fountain pen? I'd like to buy a good fountain pen. But I'm not in a high position in my company, so it won't be for signing a contract, etc. Fountain pens with thick writing are not recommendable to me, I guess. I'd like to practise hand-writing, keep a diary, write letters, etc. Not for decorating the pocket of my shirt with expensive fountain pens like some snobbish colleagues around me. And I don't know a lot about fountain pens. Some people say that fountain pens have some charm that ball-point pens don't have. What kind of fountain pen would be suitable for me? I know that there are many well-known manufacturers of fountain pens such as Mont Blanc, S.T. Dupont, Waterman, Parker, etc.

Ink bleeding on manga paper ? I've just started to use G Pen nibs on manga manuscript paper to ink. Everytime I press the nib down to make thick, strong lines, it always bleeds along the lines and ruins the whole thing. Can anyone tell me if this is because of the nib scratching on paper or because of the ink [I use Waterman black ink] ? Thanks in advance. @vapid : thanks for the answer. Cuz I could only find that kind of paper around here, plus I've seen others using that kind of paper without problems, so I went ahead and bought it. I'll be looking out for the ink types :D [Oh, and should I burn the tip of the nib ? Many said that it would enhance the flow of ink D:]

how to improve handwriting (old fashioned)? First and foremost, I have a very good short hand handwriting and a decent signature. I want to learn how to write "script-like" calligraphy, for example, john hancock. Not to that extreme though. Besides "practice, practice, practice", any types? I own a fountain pen with a 3 nibs (thin, med, and wide) as well as a watermen ball point
