Highlighters

Can different color highlighters have an impact on how well you study your notes?

I don't know but when i was in class, i was just observing people you their different highlighters to mark notes with. The girly girls have pink, the smart ones had maybe green or yellow. I borrow a highlighter form my friend everyday but i was wondering if the color maybe have some impact on how well you can digest the stuff you learn in class. This just might be a stupid question in the end. because i had nothing better to do in class.

2. It can make a difference if you have a specific system set up. One color marks really important concepts, another marks specific details, etc. It depends on how you learn. Color coding can be very helpful for some people.
3. I doubt it. Ive used green, yellow and orange, whatever I happen to grab. If im in a creative mood ill use different colors to maybe highlight titles and then main ideas, but it doesn't really affect how i study.
4. certainly! Anybody knows that.

I am sure it helps.. to study or to read again the crucial parts. and maybe use a different colour if something appears again in a different chapter.. so you look it up in both places if you mark it a different color as long as you know what the different marking of your study notes means for you personally to make it easier to find important information right away...
