What kind of markers are better for colouring?
I want to start trying to use markers to colour in my drawings. I was wondering which is better prismacolor markers or copic markers?? Or is there another brand that is even better then those two. It would also help (but is not necessary) if you could tell me where i could buy them. I live in Canada, BC, and i have never gone to an art store so if you could tell me a name of one that is here, please.

- What I can tell you comes from personal experience, and that is that copic markers generally tend to perform and blend better than prismacolor markers. Copics also come in a far wider range than prismacolors, as prisma markers only come in 156 colors, whereas copics come in 334 colors (for the sketch markers, which I recommend). As well as that, copic markers have replaceable ink - meaning that once your ink runs out, you can simply buy a refill for a price that isn't really that expensive, and the nibs are replacable as well, so if you tend to be heavy-handed and wear down nibs, than copic is probably the way to go. Prismacolors, however, have no ink refills available or replacement nibs. There is one negative of copics, though, and that is that they can be quite expensive (around $6-$7 USD, I believe), especially when buying in bulk, whereas prismacolors are about $3-$4 USD (based on the prices in store last time I visited america, which was only two months ago, and the prices online). Here is a list of store locations where they sell copics in canada provided by the copic website - http://copicmarker.com/dealer-locator/ I would also suggest using good marker paper when using your markers for the best quality, no matter what product you use. Good Luck.
